Today we used Autumn leaves as a provocation for our maths. We enjoyed classifying the leaves, creating groups according to their size and colour. We also did some adding and subtracting using the leaves.
Following on from this the girls were invited to draw their own leaves. We placed some of the leaves on the light table and took a closer look. We talked about the intricate details on the leaves such as the veins, the stems and the 'bumpy edges'.

We are looking forward to writing stories about our leaves as well as painting them with Autumn colours.
