Kites and Cats on Mt St John.

What a stunning day it was yesterday up on Mt St John.
Warm and sunny with just enough wind to get our flash plastic bag kites off the ground.
The girls were so excited when we asked them if they would like to take a kite up to Mt St John. Eloise said to the other girls in an incredulous voice, "you even get to have your very own one with your name on it, AND you get to have a string!" (It was only a plastic bag!!!!)

We began by testing out the kites before we set off.

On the way, we stopped to enjoy the Autumn leaves.

Just as we were leaving school, the girls spotted a lovely cat. Kate was convinced that it was her Nana's cat Fergy, so the cat was named Fergy. Fergy followed us up all the way to the mountain. Can you spot it following the girls in this photo?

The walk took a lot longer today as the girls spent a lot of time waiting for Fergus to catch up with them. You can see the cat is still following us as we climb up the stairs!

Joyce came up with a novel idea and that was to tie the kites up to the bench seat to stop them flying away while they were playing.
At this point, the kites had changed into baskets and the girls had babies in them!

Sometimes a girl just needs a little rest!
What a lovely moment to capture.
