Kate, Karsimar, Luca, Eloise, Joyce and Keira continue to look closely at themselves as we explore the idea of portraiture further. The girls worked really hard to create their very own self portraits this week and following on from this experience we engaged in a time of reflection. The girls were invited to consider their drawings, what aspects of them they were really satisfied with and if there was anything that perhaps they weren't so happy with.
Here are the girls portraits followed by some of the dialogue from their reflections:
“I like my lips because of the shape! I did a good job of drawing them. My pupil is a little bit too big inside my eye though.” - Eloise
“I like my curls. I had to move my pen around and around and around. It was quite tricky.” - Kate
“I like my ears. I have two.” - Karsimar
“I did long long eyelashes. My eyes were the trickiest but I think they’re just perfect.” - Luca
“Well, if you look closely here just under the nose mine looks a little bit like I have whiskers. Whiskers like what my Daddy has! That’s not right.” - Joyce
“I am happy! I’m happy with my picture. I love my long hair that is black.”
- Keira
The girls have also completed their 'black on white' portraits on canvas. They're on display in the window sill so be sure to take a look!
