Conversations About the Big Questions!

Tess had asked her mum some questions that Martha shared with us. We thought they were very interesting and had a discussion with the girls about them;

"If I die what will I become and if Tommy dies what will he become? Will I be a boy?"

You will still be a girl if you die - Lily
You will be an old grandma - Mika
My mum told me that only old people die - Zara
My grandpa died of Asthma. His hair turned white first - Lily
My grandma doesn't have white hair - Imogene
When they die they will go under the ground and then a rock sign goes down on the ground.
If they are almost dead they are going to go underground. Police dig the hole and people put them in there. Someone else puts the stone there - Mika

We talked about people's spirits and their bodies...

A spirit is kind of like God I think - Isabella
If we die, we go to hospital - Jacqui
A long time ago, My grandpa and Oma became a bird when they died. First they were in the ground
inside a box and then they turned into a bird (is she thinking of the person's spirit?) - Féline
Magic fairies help to turn people into birds - Jacqui
My aunties dog died, we put him into the box and put rocks over it - Isabella

We reintroduced the idea of what happens with bodies and spirits...

The body stays under the ground and the spirit goes up to heaven - Lily
When people die, they disappear ... they disappear to God - Scarlett
My three fish died and they all went to fish heaven - Mika
When people die, they change into purple and the box becomes
smaller and the whole body goes up to God - Jacqui
I think that's right 'cause before Cicadas die they turn purple - Mika

What a lot of interesting theories these girls have already developed about death and dying and they seem to have an understanding about bodies and spirits.
