Farewell.

Today we had a very special farewell ceremony for Emma, ChloƩ, Kaitlyn, Emily, Zoe, Zara, Sophie, Paige and Alice. These girls are moving up to be with Mrs Buller in Year 0 next term. We look forward to re-connecting with these girls next term in different contexts, as well as having visits from them and hearing all about their new and exciting adventures.

Kia hora te marino, kia whakapapa pounamu te moana, kia tere karohirohi i mua i tou huarahi.

May calm be spread around you, may the sea glisten like greenstone and the shimmer of summer dance across your path.

Lunch at Grand Park Restaurant.

On the last day of every term it is a tradition for us here in the Foundation Class to visit somewhere special for lunch. On Friday we had the pleasure of visiting Grand Park Restaurant. This was a very exciting and enjoyable occasion and we would like to say a huge thank you to McKenna's parents, Stephanie and Stephen for their generosity, and welcoming us into this wonderful place.

We had an impressive turn out by our families, mums, dads, brothers and sisters and we were able to share in this special occasion with Mrs Buller too! The food was amazing and the girls were very adventurous, trying new and delicious things. The bus ride was of course a huge highlight also.

Magical Bubbles.

"Bubbles are magical!" - Zara

Today we enjoyed exploring and encountering bubbles. There was a real sense of awe and wonder present as the girls engaged with the bubbles and it was wonderful to listen to their conversations about them. When Sophie noticed that several of the bubbles were floating high up into the sky and even over top of the swimming pool building, she questioned...

"Where do you think they're going to?" - Sophie

"They must be going to outer space." Paige offered.

Here are some images of the girls with the bubbles. It was a beautiful experience filled with joy and laughter.

Jill comes to visit.

Yesterday my kitten Jill came to visit the Foundation Class. My mummy brought her in. The girls all had a little pat. Everyone was nice and quiet so that we didn't scare Jill. I love mummy.

Musical Statues!

Here are some photos of us all enjoying a game of musical statues today. We had so much fun moving our bodies in creative ways and remembering to 'freeze' when the music stopped!

Our clay tiles are now complete and they are looking amazing. They are currently on display below the documentation panel in our classroom and will be sent home on Friday.

Here are some images of the girls taking a look at their tiles:

A change of scenery.

Yesterday we decided to go up to the beautiful sunny courtyard in the senior school, to eat our lunch.
We had a lovely time sitting on the new seats, talking about the trees that had been planted and how big we think they might grow to be one day.

The girls also reconnected with the statue and its shadow which was really neat.

Today we get to go up to the cafe for lunch! We are just so lucky.
