A very special farewell.

This afternoon we said goodbye to two of our special friends. McKenna and Vanessa are moving to Mrs Bullers' class next term and we are going to miss them very much. We wish them all the very best and look forward to having them visit us!

May calm be spread around you, may the sea glisten like greenstone and the shimmer of summer dance across your path.

Lunch at the Garden Cafe.

We had such a lovely time together at the Eden Garden's Cafe today. The food was great and the girls absolutely loved exploring the gardens. We hope that those of you who joined us had a nice time too!

Here are some photos from our outing:

The Mid-Autumn Festival.

We had a lovely time today making lanterns and tasting some moon cakes, in celebration of the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival. We would like to say a huge thank you to Corrine for bringing the moon cakes in, as well as a lovely book which explains why the Mid-Autumn Festival is celebrated.

Here are some photos from our day:

The bath bomb recipe.

Here is the very popular bath bomb recipe. A huge thank you to Stephanie for sending this through to us. Perhaps the girls will enjoy making some more of these during the holidays?

Planting our garden.

This afternoon we worked to plant all of our herbs, vegetables and Marigolds into our garden. Isobella informed us that if we "squeeze the side of the plastic container, well that's how you get the seedlings out." This proved to be very helpful.

Most of the girls enjoyed getting their hands dirty, though some were a little more hesitant. Everyone was encouraged to give it a go, and we all had lots of fun.

Our garden is looking great and we can't wait to enjoy the produce together when it has grown.

Making Bath Bombs.

Yesterday McKenna brought each girl a bath bomb that she had made with her mum. Today, her mum Stephanie came and helped the girls to make their own bath bombs. The classroom smelt beautiful as the girls made them and the girls enjoyed the experience. Thanks so much Stephanie.

Our visit to the garden centre.

Yesterday we visited the Remuera Garden Centre to purchase several different items for our gardening project. 'From Garden to Table' is going to be our focus for term four and we are really looking forward to it!

The girls loved exploring the Garden Centre and locating the different things we were looking for. We purchased the following vegetables and herbs to grow and nurture in our garden:

- Tomatoes
- Spring onions
- Marigolds
- Chives
- Parsley
- Beans
- Rocket
- Lettuce
- Snow Peas

Anika loved all of the beautiful flowers.
We found some gold fish!
There were so many interesting things to see.

Creating natural names.

Yesterday we worked to create natural names, using all sorts of interesting materials. Some of the things that we used were pine cones, sea shells, flower petals and leaves. This experience required lots of attention to detail to get the name looking just right. The finished names look just beautiful and the girls are very excited to take these home!
